I just have to say that I am EXTREMELY pleased this year's DN Convention. For the first time since Bush "won" in 2004 I am glued to the T.V. and a MSNBC addict. Some highlights include:
The Ted Kennedy tribute brought tears to my eyes. View it here: http://political-buzz.com/2008/08/25/video-ted-kennedy-tribute/
I have to admit that I didn't know much about Ted Kennedy and of course he has been the brunt of many cartoons. I am not one for pomp and circumstance and tributes, but his tribute on Monday was wonderful. I had NO IDEA how much he has contributed to society or the amount of impact he has had throughout his tenure. His speech was very passionate, his demeanor determined, and he looked great!
Though I have not been a huge Hillary supporter(in fact, I did not support her and couldn't wait for her to just get over it), she hit it out of the park with her speech last night. It gave me chills and was the very first time throughout her campaign that she was collaboratory. She did an excellent job. Also, say what you will about Bill's 1997 debacle, but as he sat there listening intently, he mouthed "I love her, I love her, I love her" and looked like he was about to tear up at the very sound of her voice. Some true and profound words from Hillary:
"We don’t need four more years . . . of the last eight years."
"He(Obama) knows government must be about “We the people” not “We the favored few.”"
"You haven’t worked so hard over the last 18 months, or endured the last eight years, to suffer through more failed leadership."
"No way. No how. No McCain."
And lastly, I am about to jump out of my skin with happiness over Obama's choice in a running mate!!! From the very beginning of the primaries(and also his 1988 run for president), I have been Joe Biden's number 1 fan. He is a perfect choice for many reasons...if you don't know alot, you can check out: http://biden.senate.gov/
Despite the fact that he was born in hell(Scranton), he is a rich in spirit, has a determined and firecracker personality, and is a no-bull figure; not your typical congressman. He also has said the BEST line in a campaign EVER:
"Rudy Guiliani...I mean think about it-there's only three words he mentions in a sentence....a noun, a verb and 9/11"
The clip is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPOAKXBi9Pw
Anyway, I must go now to listen to my boy Joe Biden. More blogging after the speech....

Great news all around! I am happy with the choice of Biden as well. I think it brings alot of those people over who want that "experience", plus I like his stance on alot of the issues.
I hope Guilliani is the VP pick on the other side... That would really screw things up!
